What Is Your Vision For 2022?

By - Ellen Levine, MS, RDN, EP

Happy new year! It is time to set some goals and have a fresh start, right? This is certainly easier said than done. What needs to change for you and your health this year? Maybe there are one or two things that come to mind or a whole list and you do not even know where to start. Fortunately, I know exactly where you need to start. You need to start in your mind. The concept of changing my thought process and positive affirmations was introduced to me by Dr. Mike 18 years ago. Over the next few years, I had this thought reinforced by a mentor. Then I finally became sold on the concept after watching The Secret. At that point I finally decided, what did I have to lose? If I tried thinking, acting, believing and being more positive, even if it did not work, it could not hurt. So, I did it and I am certainly not writing about it 14 years later because it did not produce results, it did and continues to do so if I continue to practice it which gets easier each day.

Start simple, ask yourself what you want. If you cannot answer it, identify what you do not want, you will have no problem determining that and you will see that the opposite is what you do want. Make a list of the desires you discover. Then decide that it is okay for you to want it and that you deserve to have it. This can be hard to believe, but it is true, you do deserve good things and all that you desire. Next believe that the good health, the new home, the perfect person, etc. are on the way to you. Spend some time daily thinking about it and picturing it in your mind. You will be amazed at what starts to happen and how much better you will feel. You will start smiling more and enjoying simple things that you have previously overlooked. Visualizing and continued belief should be a daily practice, only a few minutes, but every day. You can create what you want every hour, day, week, month, and year. It will be challenging at first, but well worth the effort. Do not miss the opportunity to make 2022 your best year yet. I wish you health, happiness, and prosperity this year!
