MAKING RULES

MAKING RULES

BTHC January 2024 Blog

Rules are important, they shape society and help us to keep order and live in harmony. Responsible and free societies have positive rules which are not overbearing or limiting.  Too many negative rules have devastating impacts, especially in a dictator ruled world.  The same is true for individuals.  As humans, we ALL make rules. We have rules about everything, especially our families, our friends and our neighbors.  Once we make these “RULES”, we defend them and live our lives by them.  Some rules live long lives and are blindly handed down from generation to generation.  These “edicts” usually lead to prejudice, hatred and even wars.  It is extremely important to reevaluate your “personal rules”.  Make sure your very own personal rules aren’t limiting, negative or restrictive.  You have free will, so change your negative rules to positive.  Turn your dislikes into likes.  This is a great time of year to reshape your thinking and evaluate your own rules (like I don’t like spinach or my mother-in-law) and recreate new, improved, affirmative resolutions (RULES).  In that way we can learn to live happier, more fulfilling lives.  It worked for Popeye and it could work for you!
