Coronavirus Prevention - Best Practices

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become the topic of our daily discussions at work, at home and in our communities.  Although Bloomfield Total Health Center deals primarily with musculo-skeletal issues, we would like to assure you that we are committed to the health and safety of our patients, our employees, our families and our communities.

We have implemented procedures to insure that we are protecting both our patients and our staff against potential spread of all respiratory infections.

At this time we ask all patients who have an existing appointment and those who call to schedule future appointments to please inform us immediately if they have…

  -traveled outside the US

-been in contact with someone who has traveled outside the US

-any respiratory symptoms, including cough and shortness of breath

  -a fever

Patients/staff with symptoms have been / will be directed to stay home

Equipment, furniture and rooms are being frequently cleaned and disinfected

Staff has been trained on infection control procedures

The CDC recommends that everyone should:

-Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

-Cough or sneeze into a tissue then throw the tissue in the trash, or at the least

-Cough or sneeze into your elbow (then launder your clothing upon return home)

-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth

-Avoid close contact with people who are sick

-Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care

-Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

Bloomfield Total Health Center is constantly monitoring updates from The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), NJ Dept. of Public Health (NJDOH) as well as other recognized centers such as Johns Hopkins for recommendations and precautions.
