WISDOM
BTHC October 2025 Blog
We traditionally accept that wisdom comes from experience. From the beginning
of time we look to the elders for sage advice, acquired from years of practical knowledge. These authoritarian figures offer direction and establish rules and guidelines based on their collective exposure. We look to them to set the tempo and the pace of our society, forming our mores and defining religions. These time honored principle figures, however, aren’t always the epitome of true wisdom. Time spent by living longer may not be the most efficient way to gather wisdom. What if we actually begin to learn from HISTORY! What a novel concept, one that we have heard over and over BUT do we ever stop to seriously look at the past? Do we analyze what worked from the beginning of time and most importantly what didn’t work? We are all aware of the age old saying, “HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF”, yet we seldom learn from our mistakes or successes which are so beautifully laid out in the template of the past. When will we ever learn? We look to those we hope will know, only to be disappointed time and time again. Being old doesn’t always equal wisdom. Sometimes we need to look in different directions. With today's technological breakthroughs will it be possible to acquire wisdom through the study of Artificial Intelligence (AI)? If you are older, like me, don’t knock it until you understand it! If used PROPERLY, AI can measure history’s past wins and show us how to avoid the pitfalls of the past. At that point we can truly “learn from history” without the bias of prejudice and overrated egos. Will the wisdom of the future finally come from the true study of the past? It will if the wisdom studied is properly gathered and seriously heeded. In this way wisdom takes on a whole new meaning, a meaning that has the potential to take our lives on an amazing journey!!
