“Confucius Was Not Confused”
BTHC September 2025 Blog
We look to Confucius, the acclaimed Chinese educator and philosopher (551 B.C. to 479 B.C.), for his words of wisdom, concerning all aspects of life. He touched on so many common dilemmas and solved problems with quick and simple ideas that people can easily relate to and understand. His words transcend all cultures and religions, which are as pertinent today as they were when he first taught them. When you listen to his written wisdom you can greatly appreciate the depth of his philosophy. He taught in terms that everyone can understand. His style was simple by design, teaching in quick and in mostly uncomplicated proverbs. With his words we often have an “aha moment”. A moment when clarity shines through. Throughout the ages many wise, thought provoking shapers of the universe used similar styles to convey possible solutions to life’s challenges (you may recall the simple proverbs of Jesus). I often wonder why human being makes life so complicated. We overthink, over worry and make our own lives a living hell. With so much simple wisdom around us, why are so many of us perpetually confused? If we just focus on the great lessons of the past and listen to the words of the wise men like Confucius, we would all be so much better. I am sure Confucius was not confused BUT sometimes I wonder about the rest of us???
