To Really Know You Must Do

Mammals can learn.  Pavlov, the famous Russian Experimental Neurologist, helped to prove that premise with his well-known work with dogs.  Human beings, however, possess a different level of learning.  We, above all mammals, can reason and rationalize.  We have the ability to learn at different levels and we can use the things we learn to change our lives, BUT DO WE???  Do we really put, into practical steps, the information we gather to actually change our habits and better our lives?  The answer for most of us is a loud NO!  Sometimes the very action steps we should take never happen.  We have enough information through our ability to learn and reason BUT unfortunately many times we use reason negatively.  We offer ourselves rationalizations to divert our very own success.  We tell ourselves that things are too hard; we scare ourselves with self-doubt and self-inflicted fear. All we really need to do is to take the information we “know” and actually use it to affect positive changes.  We need to take ACTION, any action, big or small. That’s how we can rise in the animal world and prove our intelligence.

Let’s use an “OLD” Italian saying (that I made up a few years ago) to sum up the solution. Per per sapere e non compartarse, non e ancora complimente sapere! The translation says it all. To know and not to DO (action Steps) means that you really don’t fully know.  Is that who you are?  The person who always says, “I know”, while missing the action step to do?  Honestly, If you never DO – you never, ever really KNOW!
